Entry#6 No more Blogging!

        

                 Finally, the semester is over! No more papers, blogs, homework, or anything! Blogging isn’t so bad, but I really prefer not to do them because I just really hate writing all the time. At least this class was fun and not super boring like normal English classes. I think that blogs are a new better way to get kids to learn and write a different way than writing the same old paper all the time. I think that the topics we had for our blog and choosing our after the assigned one helps because thinking about one topic the whole time makes my brain hurt! So, I really think that blogging was useful and a different way to use technology in class. Plus, we get to write fewer papers! Overall, the blogging was a good experience for future writing in other classes. At least now I will be able to know what the heck I’m doing and how to structure it!

     

Lays New Flavor chips!

        

       So, recently there have been commercials about these new odd flavors of lay chips. I think that it’s great that started making new flavors of chips because same old boring flavors always make are getting boring! So far I have tried all three flavors and Sirachi is my favorite because if you have ever had the chili paste they make and put it in a chip delicious!! My second favorite flavor is the cheesy Garlic bread is also good because its really like eating of a piece of garlic bread it’s crazy! Then my least favorite is the chicken and waffles chip because at first they are actually really good because just imagine pancake in a bag! When you smell them its like smelling hot maple syrup yummy! But then after you eat them a lot it start to make me sick and that’s why it’s my least favorite! If you like chips I recommend that you guys go and try these chips they are very different and unusual to what flavor of chips that we usually eat. So, go and try them!  

Entry #5: MEDIA!

       

 

    I think media plays a big role in our society because we just rely on the news or many other TV shows to tell us how to do things or think a certain way about things. When the Newtown shooting happened, the world freaked because of how dangerous the gun was like it was the one with brain shooting everybody. When really it was clearly the kid with some sort of mental issue or problem. Nobody really understands that I think because of the gun laws now being hardened for a crazy person using them. Overall, media really does play a role in our society and I’m starting to notice influence it has on us all over the world.

Evil Dead!

      So, this weekend my sister and I went to watch the movie Evil Dead for her birthday. To begin with, the movie was great and at first I had no idea what this movie was about when the trailers came out. I realized that the original 1981 version was on Netflix, so I watched part of it to get the feel of what it was in the first place, and it ended being almost exact to the new movie. The directors to the original movie actually filmed the new once so it was pretty exciting to see that Evil Dead wasn't one of those stupid remakes that have nothing to do with the original.  Overall, the movie was very exciting, thrilling, a jumper,bloody gory kind of movie,and has a bit of laughter to it . In my opinion, It's a movie you could never forget probably one of my favorite scary movies so far because I've already had nightmares about the scary demon girl in the movie!!!! I recommend that you guys go see it and watch till all of the credits are over because there is a secret ending!!

Entry #4: Capitalism

 

             The movie Capitalism with Michael Moore was interesting because I really never knew about this problem in America. I thought it was going to be a boring movie about politics or something to do with government, yet it surprised me with the entertaining little comedy scenes that brightened up the audience from all of the sad scenes in the movie. I like that movie also was very information about capitalism because I had no idea what it was. I mean I am only eighteen, so this politics and stuff doesn’t really concern me yet. Even with that said I did like the movie, I remember when it came out in the movies thinking it that this movie looks super boring and that I would never watch this movie. In English 101, our teacher made us watch a film about corporate farming and how the big companies like Tyson would treat animals horrible and they were very informational about the problem trying to persuade the audience like that capitalism about the problem and really try to change.    

No Homework!

       

         Spring break is such a great time to relax and do nothing, but teachers always seem to assign homework during it. I always seem to procrastinate on my work anyways so assigning homework to me on a break I just won’t do it the day before it’s due. I think spring break should be homework free! Some people just really don’t want to write papers and stuff on their time off. So, I think they should just avoid the homework and take a break which is the whole point of “Spring Break.”

Entry #3 ASU

         

           ASU’s 7-week classes are a great way for students to get done with their classes during the semester. The shorter classes are pretty much like taking summer classes just during the semesters instead. I personally know about the short classes because my mom and sister take them all the time, it’s a lot easier for my mom to take the short classes online because my mom and dad go to their other house in Hawaii for the summer and throughout the year. Luckily, they are both graduating in May so no more school for them! I think that these classes take less time to do and have many benefits for people who can’t go to in person classes. People who have kids, a job, or both can take fewer 7 ½ week classes online and finish a lot faster than a 15 week class.

Gelato!

          My most favorite sweet thing in the world is Gelato, why? Because it's probably the best ice cream you will ever have! When I had my first taste of Gelato was on my graduation trip to Europe. We stopped first in Spain and you couldn't believe the freshness and deliciousness of this ice cream. Gelato is a creamy italian ice cream made from fresh milk, cream, and fruit. Ice cream in America is just thick cream that is really just to sweet and doesn't even taste good to me anymore after i've had gelato. The light airiness and freshness of it is what the best part is, plus it's not super sweet like most ice cream that just gives headaches and stomach pains after.
 

 

My favorite flavors are strawberry, kiwi, and coconut,. 

 

If you every want to get something kinda close to this you'll have to go to Rita's on 83rd and union hills by the big walmart!!

 

Entry #2 Real or Fake?

       

         Chupacabra's have been known in parts of the world as legends and myths that this gruesome animal strikes at night and has a weakness for blood. This creature hunts at night seeking for farm animals. The translation for chupacabra is “goat-sucker” creepy right? At least it hasn’t attacked any humans that we know of! But why was it called goat-sucker? Legend says that from the earliest attacks that were goats with two puncture wounds on its neck drained of blood, but not only was taken from these goats particular have been missing from the bodies also.  A video from CBS news shows pictures and videos being taken by farmers they said that it was hairless, weird feet, and sharp teeth.

Is it real or fake? there are many footages of having this animal dead but never truly alive. It seems to me that it might just be a dog that has skin disease and the hair has shedded off from it. Different types of animals could have bread with some sort of dog and came out to be this I don't know, it's really up to you decide whether you believe or not.

Hallllooooweennnnn!

My favorite time of the year is Halloween! Halloween is the time to dress up, go to haunted houses, or just stay in watch scary movies and eat popcorn and candy all night! My sister and I use to dress up and have fun getting candy, but now we either go to haunted houses, or stay in and rent scary movies and watch them all night long!  The classic scary movies in our house are Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, Jason, Jennifer’s Body are some of my sister and I’s favorite movie’s we watch.  This is my favorite thing to do, it may not sound fun, but it is to my sister and me. 

Candy, popcorn, and more candy yumm! I love this time of year tons goods and sweets!  

Blog Entry #1 About Blogs

       Blogs, are a way to express one’s opinion about a topic they are interested in telling the other people about. Blogs are also like a public diary that updated daily to express thoughts about a political issue or whatever the author wants it to be.

    But the real question is, is where did it begin? How did it start to become such a worldwide futuristic trend? Well it all began in 1999 when the first official blog came out. Just like today it was just a diary of opinions just not as popular and not used as often.

     So, blogging is like a personal, business, or a casual way of expressing an opinion about a topic or view that person has about and spreads out to the world to read and enjoy. I personally don’t like blogging because I never really been in to posting my thoughts about things to the world to read. Last semester I had to write blogs form ENG 102 class and it was an okay experience for a semester, but I was really hoping I didn’t have to do it again. Oh well its better than having to write a ton of papers!!!!

The first blog that I read was "How Sweet it is" and it was about how you can make unusal ingredients to make a sweet treat or just reciepes made up by that person. Try and think of like reciepe cite just for food; for example, Foodnetwork.com has pretty much the same idea of this of the blog except it's not really talking about the food like a blog does. This blog is more of a casual/professional setting for the readers to enjoy her recipes. I really liked this blog because i love finding new recipes and food ideas to cook!

"Harry Potter Last Adventure!" as you all know I am pretty much in love with the Harry potter series including books and movies. This blog really caught my attention because well you know its about Harry Potter duh!  This blog talks about the very last movie how it all ends there and possibly a continuing series to the children of the three wizards.

The second blog I read wasn’t so compelling for me because it was really kind of boring for me to read; it was called “Google’s official Blog.” This type of blog would be something like a businessperson would read, consumers, or someone who really likes to read about new technology coming out. After all, there was some good aspects of this blog too if you liked to read these sort of things. In this blog, it consists mainly of new technology coming out this year. In addition,  my reaction to this blog was in more of a negative way because I don't particularly like this blog; t his blog is more Professional than laid back like the Harry Potter blog I read. In Conclusion, The Google blog seems to me that it wants to draw people in and tell information about the items they are talking about and get consumers to use/buy their items too.

    First off, my name is Kayla and I just recently turned 18 in November! I'm attending GCC because I am getting all my per-requsites before I go to ASU in the Spring of 2013. I will be a junior when I start there, I know sounds weird huh? Well I graduated from high a year early, so i've been at GCC for about a year or so. I really want to get a bachelor of arts Degree in Anthropology specifically in the culture/archeology/evolution part of it.I have always been really interested in discover lost worlds or how humans how evolved over time. For example Pompeii, Italy is a very well known archeology site that was destroyed by Mount. Vesuvious around 79.A.D.

My main interests that I enjoy in life are my Xbox 360 and cooking with my mom. My Xbox I usually play games like Halo 4, Blacks ops 1 and 2, Assassins Creed games, and many other I could go on and on about! Then there is cooking that I have a real passion about, there's just something about creating great reciepes and getting eat the creation that you made gets me excited to cook. The best part of cooking is that my mom loves it too so we just make good bonding time with each other. Other than those two main plus college that's what I really enjoy in life! (:
